This beautiful single malt whisky has been maturing in American ex-bourbon casks before soaking up luscious flavours from Central-Otago Pinot Noir barrels. While quietly ageing in their seaside bond store in Oamaru, Dunedin DoubleCask has gained a golden auburn colour and aromas of beeswax and fresh cereal, toasted oak and soft spices with a delicious, long fruity finish. Woodford Reserve Rye pays homage to history with a pre-Prohibition style mash bill of 53% rye. Spice and tobacco lead the way, supported by layers of fruit, floral and sweet aromatics that create depth and approachability. The nose is distinctly spicy with notes of rye, black pepper, cedar and cassia bark, softened by marzipan and hints of pear, apple and almond.
